Overcoming Evil Schemes

As we approach the return of our Messiah we know that the evil one has and will become more bold. Our community came into being because of the special needs of those who have been severely harmed in every imaginable way by those who serve evil purposes. Though we have provided information here in this website about the need for developing maturity, we have always had information about recognizing evil at work and how we have learned to respond. This information has not been singled out and called "spiritual warfare" by name. It pertains to both factors within individuals and within assemblies that open the door to strife and division. When studying the 7 Assemblies it has become obvious to us as to others that the struggles we face in these last days often do have to do with those who are not committed to their faith walk in Messiah. And in the study of the 7 things YHWH hates, we do see that strife and division is a prominent scheme used today to disrupt His people.

Though it has not been prominently featured in our materials, we have been working with people who have experienced DID, Dissociative Identity Disorder/previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder, for many years. We had changed our focus for a season when we saw how little joy strength there was for this restoration process and concentrated on that but now it is apparent that the time for warfare has returned. We do clearly see that there are personal and corporate lessons that must be learned in order to avoid disruption by the one who only comes to lie, steal, kill and destroy. People of the Lie
by Dr. M. Scott Peck

This was the first book I ever found that dealt with the problem of evil from a psychological/psychiatric perspective. Good insights for both individual and corporate nature of evil actions. Dr. Peck came closer to a Christian worldview in this book, than in previous or later works.

The Sociopath Next Door
by Martha Stout, PhD

Dr. Stout gathered much information that supports our Scriptural understanding of the defilement of man as we near the time of Messiah's return. Though she does not have a faith based perspective, she has provided a good look at one pervasive individual aspect of evil, sociopathic behavior.

Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes)
by Andrew M. Lobaczewski & Laura Knight-Jadczyk

This book was born out of the observations and experiences of Lobaczewski and colleagues as they experienced the takeover of Nazism in their university. The original manuscript and years of painstaking evaluation and testing of their hypothesis was thrown into the furnace moments before a secret police raid in Communist Poland. The history of efforts to get it published is a study in itself. It examines the macro-social aspect of how individuals who seek evil infiltrate and eventually overtake existing organizations for their purposes. I believe they have captured some good observations on the process, but do not agree with the proposed solution, which was to establish a review board to oversee anyone anticipating leadership in any given country.
(My objection: Who would oversee the review board?)
